Gwen Stacy is a prominent character in Marvel Comics, known primarily as Peter Parker/Spider-Man's first true love.
She first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 (December 1965). Initially portrayed as intelligent and beautiful, Gwen was a science major and classmate of Peter Parker at Empire State University. Their relationship blossomed amidst Peter's struggles balancing his personal life with his superhero duties.
Tragically, Gwen's life was cut short when she was kidnapped by the Green Goblin. In the ensuing confrontation, she fell from the George Washington Bridge.
